Senior enlisted leaders from Africa, Europe and the United States gathered for the Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF), part of the African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) 2025, held April 8 and 10 in Accra. SELF runs concurrently with ALFS, and features specialized plenary and breakout sessions for senior enlisted leaders across Africa, the US and Europe, dedicated to topics related to developing and leading enlisted soldiers.

Medical readiness exercise kicks off in Ghana during African Lion 2024

ACCRA, Ghana — A team composed of U.S. Army and Air Force medical professionals from the 86th Medical Squadron, Dental Health Activity - Rheinland Pfalz, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, U.S. Army Medical Command and the State Medical Detachment, North Dakota National Guard commenced a medical readiness exercise (MEDREX) with the Ghana Armed Forces, May 13. The ceremony marked the beginning of activities that will run until May 31, at the 37th Military Hospital in Accra.
Planners from U.S. Africa Command, the Southern European Task Force – Africa, the U.S. National Guard and Reserve and multiple African partners assembled here to begin detailed planning for Exercise African Lion 23, Sept. 26-30.
