Flora assumes CJTF-HOA command, reflects on USARAF role

Maj. Gen. Lapthe C. Flora, who has served for nearly two years as the U.S. Army Africa deputy commanding general, as well as the Virginia Army National Guard assistant adjutant general – Army land component commander, recently assumed command of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa.
"My great-uncle served in WWII in a tank battalion under General Patton. My uncle was in the 82nd Airborne Division. I serve because I want to give back to my country, attend some high-speed military schools and deploy to defend our nation."
