Regional Leaders Seminar brings partners together in Zambia

The U.S. Army, in partnership with the Zambian Defense Force and other partner nations, hosts a Southern Regional Leaders Seminar for senior military leaders in Lusaka, Zambia Aug. 14.

LUSAKA, Zambia – The U.S. Army, in partnership with the Zambian Defense Force and other partner nations, hosts a Southern Regional Leaders Seminar for senior military leaders in Lusaka, Zambia Aug. 14.

This is the third in a series of four regional seminars conducted at the conclusion of each Accord Series exercise to bring together regional military leaders to discuss ways to further align, balance and synchronize multi-national activities.

Eight nations, including the U.S., are expected to participate in the seminar, as well as Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia.

The primary goals of the Southern Regional Leaders Seminar are to increase interoperability, develop a consensus on the regional threat and identify training gaps, while cementing partnerships between regional counterparts.

Once the seminar is complete, all participants will return to their home countries and stations.
