Saber Junction 22 Begins in Hohenfels, Germany

Saber Junction 22 has officially begun in Germany with more than 4,400 participants from the U.S., Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

Soldiers find inspiration while running

Sgt. Eva Perry of the 207th Military Intelligence Brigade, and Spc. Samantha Hengehold, of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, two of the fastest female Soldiers in Europe, are from U.S. Army Garrison Italy. They proved it recently at the Installation Management Command-Europe level Army Ten-Miler in Grafenwoehr, Germany, placing first and second respectively. The event, held earlier this summer, is the qualifier for the upcoming 38th annual Army Ten-Miler in Washington D.C.

Sergeant Morales Club inducts new members, serves community

To become a member of the Sergeant Morales Club, Soldiers must commit countless hours of their free time to prepare for the long road to becoming a member. Service members must be in the rank of corporal through sergeant first class, be in good Army standing, supervise at least two Soldiers, and demonstrate the character, commitment and competence required to maintain their standing in the Army profession, and be assigned to U.S. Army Europe and Africa command and have a minimum of six months remaining to their overseas tours.

U.S. Soldiers assist passengers injured in Somalia plane crash

Three 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade Soldiers out of Fort Bragg, N.C., were conducting medical training with a platoon of Somalia’s Danab commandos when a Jubba Airlines aircraft crash-landed at Mogadishu International Airport at 10:30 a.m. on July 18. While the Danab commandos rushed toward the aircraft to pull injured passengers from the aircraft, the three American SFAB team members established a triage station about 100 meters from the crash site and assisted local emergency responders to evacuate 16 injured passengers to nearby medical facilities.
